RESCUECOM’s 2015 Computer Reliability Report brings some interesting shifts among the big names in computer and tablet manufacturers.

Most noteworthy in the 2015 report is the massive lead Amazon has claimed over the competition. With a higher reliability score than the rest of the manufacturers combined, Amazon holds the top rank by an enormous margin.

The manufacturer even surpassed well-known names in reliability like Apple and Samsung this year—an impressive feat even if there were only a small gap between them.

Amazon’s “A+” grade is due in large part to focusing on one product: the Kindle tablets.

Both Samsung and Apple have impressive reliability grades of “A-” for 2015. In fact, these long time contenders for the number one spot almost tied in reliability score. Samsung managed to gain a narrow lead over Apple and the two companies will surely continue to race for higher reliability in the coming year.

The full list of rankings, explained in-depth in the 2015 Computer Reliability Report, is as follows:

ManufacturerReliability Grade
AmazonA+
SamsungA-
AppleA-
LenovoB
AsusB-
DellC+
ToshibaC
HPD

Lenovo and Asus mark the middle ground with reliability grades of “B” and “B-”, respectively. While these grades are respectable, they still have a long way to go to reach their top competitors. Toshiba often holds a spot in the middle of the rankings as well but RESCUECOM has seen a bit of an increase in Toshiba users calling for computer repair in 2015.

Dell, Toshiba, and HP form the tail end. Interestingly, Dell has managed to pull ahead of both Toshiba and HP this year. This leap in ranking is significant for Dell, which had long been alternating with HP towards the bottom of the reliability grades. Dell has a long way to go if the company hopes to reach the top of the list, but even the top names will need to work hard to maintain their current rankings.

...A hacker with the alias "DEATHRIDGE" entered a company Teams meeting via someone invited as a guest, and started taking control of my computer and my life. They sent emails pretending to be me that really looked like they were coming from me. They tried to take control of our corporate bank accounts, added themselves as a user to my Microsoft account, and locked me out of my computer as my passwords no longer worked. My ability to run a telecom company ground to a halt, and all my company and personal information was at their fingertips. I felt so helpless, and I needed folks smarter than the hacker(s) to do battle for me. Our typical computer pros couldn't handle it, and neither could other "experts" I called. Lucky for me I called RESCUECOM, and they immediately got to work. They didn't complain though I was asking for help in the middle of the night, but immediately got to work and worked non-stop to restore everything and protect me going forward. The team at RESCUECOM are my knights in shining armor, and they're the absolute best! less
