Cloud Storage On Google Is Here With Google Drive!

If you are not hip to all of the latest trends in the tech sector, there are some exciting new technologies and services of which you should be aware.  While technology is changing rapidly, there are some new trends that appear to be here to stay and that you may well want to utilize.  One of the big emerging markets is Cloud storage.  Cloud storage is like a storage locker or a safe deposit box for your files; you transfer your files and documents to a special site on the Internet and they are, theoretically, protected and are available to you from any computer device you use.  The latest major Cloud storage service is Google Drive.

Google Drive is a separate service from Google Docs, which allows you to keep a portfolio of documents on a Google Cloud and allows you to share and revise drafts with others.  Like Google Docs, Google Drive will allow you – and anyone else you grant permission to – to alter, edit and collaborate on files from any computer or mobile device.  Naturally, Google is hoping you will use Chrome to access Drive, but already there is an iOS app which allows those on Apple products to utilize Google Drive.

As a free service, Google Drive provides you with 5 GB of Cloud-based storage.  This can be useful for large file transfers or giving you access to files you do not want to put on multiple computers.  Google Drive is all about providing you with access and the convenience of saving storage space on your own computers and mobile devices.  For those who have extensive data storage needs, Google Drive offers additional gigabytes worth of storage space, starting at $4 for an additional 20 GB of storage space.  Google Drive has, to date, the most extensive available storage space.  You can build your personal Google Drive Cloud up to 16 TB, if you have demanding data storage requirements and the money to pay for such space.

Google Drive offers some bells and whistles that the other Cloud storage services do not.  The most notable feature of Google Drive is smart tagging.  When you upload an image or file to Google Drive, Google remembers its title.  The next time you search for something online that has the same name, your Google Drive document comes up.  This can be a real asset for reference photographers, for example, as it provides them with a clear archive of the images they already have when searching for more images to add to a portfolio!

Google seems determined to get into every possible market and niche on the Internet and with Google Drive, Google now offers an intriguing Cloud storage package.
