Replacing Picnik, iPiccy Is Very Cool!

Fans of digital photography – especially amateurs and those who do not have a lot of money for expensive, professional photo manipulation software – have been mourning the demise of Picnik.  Picnik is no longer an independent photo manipulation website, though its tools have been absorbed into Google+.  For those who might not want to join yet another social network, but enjoyed the look and feel of Picnik, there is now iPiccy.

iPiccy is a relatively new digital photo manipulation and editing site that allows you to alter your digital photos.  Using iPiccy is easy because you do not need to download any software or risk your computer in any way.  Like Picnik, using iPiccy is a simple and direct process: you upload your photo, edit it on the website using the easy-to-understand toolbars and keys, and then you save your altered photo back on your own computer.  Like the best expensive photo manipulation programs, iPiccy does not risk your original image, giving you a great deal of flexibility to experiment creatively!

The controls for iPiccy are both simple and large, making it an ideal platform for editing photographs while on your tablet computer or smartphone.  With a touchscreen – or mouse, if you are on a personal computer or laptop computer – it is easy to use iPiccy for rotating, cropping, and resizing images.  With easy-to-use slide controls for color adjustment and sharpening tools, you can very quickly see the results of changing your digital photo.

Just as Picnik had a sense of whimsy, iPiccy presents a number of tools that are fun to use and inspire creativity when manipulating your images.  In addition to traditional manipulation tools, like the ability to transform your image into a black and white or sepia-toned picture, iPiccy has a function called liquify (sic) which allows you to add a distortion to the picture, as if you were looking at the picture under slightly moving water!  Functions like “Cyber Vision” allows you to alter reality entirely to make your picture look like it is being seen through a computer haze, much like the cameras in Paranormal Activity!

iPiccy is flexible, easy to use and does not require any special training or experience to use.  It is a wonderful on-line photo manipulation tool that is fun to play around with and has enough tools to satisfy the demanding needs of professional photographers.  Fans of Picnik, it is time to stop your mourning and visit iPiccy!
