Developing The Businesses That Evolve The Tech Sector, Ryan Rouland Is Very Cool!

The tech sector seems to embrace different roles played by different people based upon their interests and experiences.  Just as cops do not make for the best marriage counselors and poets are not traditionally called upon to rewire your house, many brilliant technical minds simply are not good at, or interested in, business.  Many of the biggest tech sector companies, like Facebook, only reached their business potential when the tech-focused creator hired a brilliant business-oriented individual (like Mark Zuckerberg did when he hired Sheryl Sandberg).  No other major industry seems to respect just how well specialized people may work when they are allowed to focus on their specialization (instead of treating all employees and executives as interchangeable) than the tech sector.  Ryan Rouland has long recognized the benefits of letting tech leaders focus on the ideas and products, while he has built many successful tech companies for those innovators!

Ryan Rouland defines himself as a “serial entrepreneur” as he focuses on taking good ideas and making them into profitable businesses.  A man who chases new challenges, Rouland is constantly looking for the next big thing and he remains on the cutting edge by eagerly investing in new start-ups in the tech sector.  While it might initially seem that Ryan Rouland is a gunslinger, constantly on the move, even as he helps develop new companies, he continues to manage two of his own companies and he serves on the Boards of Directors for My Property Software and the Coastal Realty Group.

A student at the California State University at Fullerton in the early 1990s, Ryan Rouland expressed a real interest in business and sales.  A budding entrepreneur even then, Rouland graduated with his Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications/Advertising in 1993.  Opting not to pursue more formal education, Ryan Rouland dove into the world of business as a salesman for Viking.  After three years of mastering real-world sales, Ryan Rouland decided to start his own business.

In co-founding Apollo Solutions, Ryan Rouland discovered that his knack for business strategy could pay off when tied to a good idea.  While his co-founder worked on the technical side, Rouland developed the business model and turned the start-up into a two million dollar business.  In 2000, Apollo Solutions was bought out and Ryan Rouland became the National Sales Director for CNET Channel.  Around the same time, Rouland began to exercise his expertise in real estate and he formed The Rouland Company and, later, The Rouland Group.

Using capital from his real estate endeavors, Ryan Rouland began to explore the tech sector more.  In addition to helping to fund start-ups, he co-founded OnlyWire, where he continues to serve as CEO and on the Board of Directors.  With almost twenty years of business-building experience, start-ups that catch his attention are lucky to have the guidance and resources that Ryan Rouland provides.
