Fixational CEO Ronan O’Malley Is Making Apps That People Control with Their Eyes

There have been huge shifts in how we control our personal technology over the last decade.  The rise of tablets and smartphones have made touch control into a mainstream aspect of people’s daily lives as opposed to just a niche gimmick.  Voice control has also become popular recently thanks to the rise of new features in mobile devices such as Apple’s Siri and Android’s Google Now system.  Cool person in technology Ronan O’Malley now wants to create another revolution in how people interact with their devices.  O’Malley’s company Fixational works on technology that allows people to control smartphones, tablets and computers with their eyes.  Software that takes advantage of O’Malley’s technology allows users to interact with computers through both eye movement and blinking.  Fixational has already released two smartphone applications: Wink Camera and Wink Reader.  These applications serve as proof of concept for O’Malley’s potentially groundbreaking technology.  Users who have trouble controlling Fixational’s apps with their eyes may need smartphone PC repair to fix their phone’s camera.

O’Malley’s company is producing technology that will not only be beneficial to the average smartphone or tablet user, but also to those with disabilities that make it hard for them to operate mobile devices.  Quadriplegics or those with disabilities related to motor functions can control their technology without any major difficulties when using Fixational’s apps.  Using eye movement to control technology could make a huge difference in how accessible new software and devices are to people with disabilities.  O’Malley’s company could be creating something that would change many people’s lives with the Fixational software.

O’Malley is a scientific expert with a PhD in computer vision, not a marketer or businessman who needs to call for IT support every time he has minor computer troubles.  This cool person’s impressive expertise in his field demonstrates that he has true passion for Fixational’s work.  O’Malley also works as a machine learning and research analytics engineer at Intel.  He remains very involved in the world of technology research even as his own company continues to grow.  O’Malley wants to push technology in his field forward and expose its possibilities to the public eye and Fixational is a key tool in doing exactly that.
