Putting Numecent On The Map, Hildy Shandell Is A Powerful COO!

Sometimes, an individual’s association with a company can make all the difference in establishing a business venture.  John F. Kennedy Jr.’s decision to make a political magazine at a time when the market was pretty much strangled with political print magazines did not stop him from making George a success.  In a similar way, one of the new tech sector startups benefits greatly from the celebrity of one of the members of its management team.  Numecent is an emerging Cloudpaging company and it would be just another Internet startup if it was not for Hildy Shandell.

Hildy Shandell is the Chief Operating Officer of Numecent and has been since late 2010.  In that time, Numecent has grown through a two million dollar round of financing.  That type of financing only goes to companies that have strong assets; Hildy Shandell is one of them.

Prior to joining Numecent, Hildy Shandell was something of a superstar in the world of tech sector financing.  For twenty years, she amassed a record of success with strategic investments and powerful alliances that helped many new Internet and technology companies grow and develop, even in troubled economic conditions.  A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Lehigh University’s Sociology and Government program, Hildy Shandell went on to the prestigious Temple University.  Studying at the James E. Beasley School of Law, Shandell earned her JD in 1980 and was the editor of the Temple Law Quarterly.

After earning her degree, Shandell went to work for Fulbright & Jaworski, an international law firm with over nine hundred lawyers.  It is difficult for anyone to stand out in such a large firm, but Hildy Shandell did; she made partner and was put in charge of directing the day to day operations of the entire firm!  After fourteen years at the law firm, Shandell decided to explore her interest in finance.  She took on multiple roles, like Managing Director of the Renaissance Fund concurrent with providing counsel to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meager & Flom.  But at the turn of the millennium, Shandell’s legal and financial advice made her an undeniable asset to the tech sector.

As CFO and COO of 3Dlabs, Hildy Shandell quickly learned the ins and outs of the tech sector.  Her applied knowledge turned a 4.2 million dollar company into one that was valued at $100 million!  After that, Shandell was highly sought after as a business consultant.  She moved through start-ups and troubled tech sector companies with an uncanny ability, making good ideas work in the crowded technology marketplace and altering troubled corporate models where executive insiders were entrenched.  In 2008, Opus Capital made her a Venture Partner, essentially betting on the businesses she thought were worthwhile in which to invest.

Since joining Numecent, the Cloudpaging company has grown and no matter how long Hildy Shandell remains with it, one thing is for sure: Hildy Shandell will leave Numecent financially stronger than she found it!
