Promoting The Importance Of Inventors: Adriane Brown Is Shaping The Future!

Virtually everyone in business knows that discovery and invention are the keys to future success.  Ironically, while most businesspeople know that invention is critical to the future of any company’s long-term health, very few businesses reinvest as radically as they need to in research and development.  The profession of “inventor” is all but dead in the United States.  Intellectual Ventures is one of the few companies that are investing heavily in revitalizing the American spirit of invention.  No one is more committed to the importance of investing in shaping the future than Intellectual Ventures’ President and Chief Operating Officer, Adriane Brown.

Adriane Brown came to Intellectual Ventures after serving as President and CEO of Honeywell and her story is a true tale of the indomitable American spirit.  Brown worked her way up from a factory position at Corning to lead as President at Intellectual Ventures.  After earning her Bachelor’s in Environmental Health at Old Dominion University, Adriane Brown attended MIT.  At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Adriane Brown applied her focus to management techniques and earned her Master’s in Management.  She returned to Old Dominion University to pursue her Doctorate work and received her Ph.D. in Humane Letters.

Her vast and wide-ranging experience made Adriane Brown’s rise to President and Chief Operating Officer almost an inevitable one.  Because Adriane Brown filled so many positions in her career, she is intimately aware of how all parts of a supply chain interact.  Adriane Brown began her career at Corning Manufacturing.  While Brown began as a shift supervisor for Corning, that portion of her career there was comparatively small.  Adriane Brown was soon promoted off the manufacturing floor to the sales department.  After proving her proficiency in sales, Brown branched out and took the customer service division of Corning by storm.  Ultimately, Adriane Brown was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Environmental Products.  With such a comprehensive understanding of every level of Corning’s operations, she was an important hire for Honeywell Transportation Services.  After a decade working as an executive for Honeywell, Brown was eager for more responsibility and a different path, which made Intellectual Ventures very appealing to her.

At Intellectual Ventures, Adriane Brown fosters the importance of promoting research and development.  Under her leadership, Intellectual Ventures has supported countless inventors who are working on inventions that continue to develop alternative energy supplies and find new ways to fight diseases.  In what little spare time Adriane Brown has, she devotes her time and energy to mentoring young people and working to develop the next generation of committed leaders and creative scientists.

Adriane Brown is an executive who practices her ambitious philosophies in her work and personal life.  Her dedication to shaping the future, along with her talent and experience, is enough to give one hope!
