A Wonderful Water Pressure Monitor, The Telog PR-32 Is Very Cool!

Water is a resource many people take for granted.  After all, it is the exception to the rule when you turn the faucet on and nothing comes out.  Some of the neatest gadgets on the market – for scientific, municipal, and personal, use – pertain to monitoring various aspects of water.  From high tech gadgets like the YSI ProODO Dissolved Oxygen Sensor to the low-tech water filters many people use, water has inspired many useful products.  One of the neatest water-related products is the PR-32 Pressure Recorder.

The PR-32 Pressure Recorder is manufactured by Telog Instruments, a small company that builds telemetry and data logging devices.  Since 1984 Telog has been assisting companies, municipalities, and private citizens in monitoring water sources and systems through developing devices like the PR-32 Pressure Recorder.  The PR-32 Pressure Recorder is a wireless device that allows you to remotely measure water depth or pressure.  Because the PR-32 Pressure Recorder automatically transmits the data it collects based upon a schedule you program, once the PR-32 Pressure Recorder is installed, it requires no regular maintenance or adjustments.  This makes the PR-32 Pressure Recorder ideal for monitoring large water grids.

As a pressure recorder, the PR-32 is able to monitor pressures ranging from one to 500 pounds per square inch.  Monitoring water pressure along a water distribution network can be essential for keeping municipalities compliant with local and state laws for water distribution for residences and corporations.  The PR-32 may also be a great tool for determining if an event has affected the water distribution network.  Significant pressure changes can indicate a ruptured pipe, an occlusion within a pipe or tube, or weather-related issues, like water freezing at a junction between multiple channels.  You can easily program the PR-32 to alert you when water pressure raises or lowers to legal or functional thresholds, as you define them.

To use the PR-32 as a water level monitor, the unit attaches to a special sensor cable.  The PR-32 Pressure Recorder may accommodate cables up to 500 feet in length, making it an ideal instrument even for use with water towers or reservoirs.

The PR-32 Pressure Recorder utilizes a D-cell lithium battery and operates for five years making two calls per day before it is likely to need replacing.  The cellular modem inside the PR-32 interfaces flawlessly with Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and Bell Canada’s cellular networks, which allows the PR-32 to be used throughout most of the United States and much of Canada.  The PR-32 Pressure Recorder comes with all of the software support you need to program the unit and monitor the data it collects.  That software runs on the Windows platform.

If you are looking to monitor your water system, it is hard to do better than the Telog PR-32 Pressure Recorder!
