Justin Kitch Created Curious.com to Help Teach People Unconventional Subjects

In many editorials, news articles, and other media, writers cast the Internet as a well of knowledge for people in the modern age.  However, many people’s experiences with the web have been anything but informative or educational.  The Internet is currently a place primarily full of media consumption sites such as Netflix and Hulu, social networks focused on self-promotion and communication such as Facebook and Twitter, and ecommerce sites where people can buy whatever their heart desires and have it conveniently shipped to them.  There are cool people in technology still making companies and websites to make the Internet a destination for knowledge and education.  One of these cool people is Justin Kitch, the founder and CEO of Curious.com.

Curious.com is a website that hosts and promotes educational videos about uncommon subjects.  Niche subjects and skills that one doesn’t find in mainstream education are the bread and butter of Kitch’s video site.  Everything from tutorials about how to use mobile devices (useful if you need to know whether to call a smartphone PC repair service) to Q&A’s about how to build a brick patio are available on Kitch’s website.  Curious.com even hosts series of videos on learning foreign languages.  Essentially, Kitch wants Curious.com to be a place people can go to learn something new no matter what they might be interested in doing.  Kitch focuses the site on videos that help people learn things that they could not easily learn elsewhere.

Kitch’s team designed Curious.com to be touch and mobile-friendly website, but the company has yet to make a dedicated mobile app for either Android devices or iPhones.  Still, most users should be okay using the site while in a mobile browser.  Anyone who has difficulty on a mobile device needs to contact a mobile tech support provider.

Kitch spent ten years building his first company, Homestead.  In 2007, Intuit acquired Homestead and the entrepreneur spent some time working for the large software company before breaking off once more.  He now runs Curious.com while working to help younger entrepreneurs develop their businesses through coaching and investing in their startups.  He runs a personal blog that he has named “CEO Unplugged”.  With a clear history of success and an apparent passion for learning, Kitch is an excellent fit for Curious.com as the website continues to grow.
