Greg Lou Created RaceVine to Help Runners Decide What Races to Attempt

There are thousands of different races that amateur athletes train for all over the world.  While famous marathons get a fair amount of press, there are also many 10K races, Ironman races, triathlons, and even half-marathons for runners and other athletes to experience.  Many of these races are unique as well, given the varied terrain they take place on as well as the different organizations and companies who run the events and determine the overall experience for athletes.  However, some of these races are better run than others and cool person in technology Greg Lou wants to help runners find the best races for them.

Lou’s startup Racevine has compiled a database of tens of thousands of races held for amateur athletes across the world.  Runners, triathletes, and ironman competitors can both browse through different events on the site as well as leave specific reviews for the events in which they compete.  For example, if a particular marathon doesn’t have always have enough water available for runners, those runners can go on Racevine and leave a review warning others about the problem before they sign up to compete.  Anyone who has difficulty posting reviews or creating an account on Racevine should see if the problem is on their end with help from online tech support.

Athletes can also use Lou’s site to leave comments about a particular path that a marathon takes or the difficulties regarding the terrain of specific triathlons.  Not every race is best for every athlete.  The best choice depends upon runners’ strengths, weaknesses, and personal goals.  Using Racevine, amateur runners can specifically research what races best align with their needs. Users can add the events they want to attend to a personalized list on their Racevine profile.  Anyone who has trouble accessing the site to make a profile should contact home network support to make sure nothing is wrong with his or her connection.

Lou himself is a marathoner and triathlete.  He founded Racevine specifically because there was never a central database online for information about races like there was for movies, hotels, or concerts.  This cool person is a classic case of an entrepreneur creating a project because it is something they know that they would find useful personally.  By founding Racevine, Lou has helped many others in the amateur racing community to find the information they need about events without difficulty.
