Todd Marks Founded viaPlace to Distribute Content Based on Location

Have you ever been at a theme park, but been without an easy way to find out when certain shows and attractions occurred?  Maybe you’ve been at a museum and walked through hundreds of exhibits with no way to get more in-depth learning about them.  Venues such as museums and theme parks could invest in more workers to fill these gaps, but the costs are usually too much for them.  Cool person in technology Todd Marks wants to provide a solution to these institutions that will solve these customer-related problems in an affordable way.  Marks’s company viaPlace has developed technology to deliver people useful information on their mobile phones based on their location at a given time.  For example, theme parks could provide maps and attraction times to users’ phones with viaPlace.  Marks’s company could help museumgoers get more details when they’re at certain exhibits.  These use cases are prime examples of when Marks’s location-based content delivery system would be useful.

There are other potential uses of Marks’s technology that are less permanent in nature.  Temporary use cases include companies possibly using viaPlace to distribute targeted content at large conferences or business events.  Marks viaPlace to help people take advantage of the benefits potentially provided by location-based mobile content delivery.  Users who have problems with opening content on their mobile devices should acquire help from a smartphone PC support or tablet tech support service, depending on what device they own.

Marks began his career outside the field of business as he was originally a math and computer science teacher in the public school system.  He eventually left that job in the early 2000s and worked in computer software for several years.  In the middle of the decade, Marks went back to teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland- Baltimore County.  However, it wasn’t long after taking that position that he founded a mobile and web application development company called MindGrub.  Only a year after that Marks founded viaPlace as well.  He currently runs both companies as President and CEO.  He also stays connected to education by remaining a board member for Loyola University in Maryland.  Marks has had a very busy career and his ability to manage so much at once will certainly help him continue to make viaPlace a success.
