Thoughtback is Note-Taking with a Twist

photo thoughtback-is-note-taking-with-a-twist.pngThere are many note-taking services available as well as similar apps for mobile devices.  There may be times, however, that you want to look back at something you posted long ago, and going very far into previous posts can be a hassle.  Thoughtback is an app similar to a digital notebook, allowing you to quickly save thoughts, questions, important data, quotes, and more. What sets it apart is that it offers a unique feature whereby it automatically sends your thoughts back to you.  After saving a new post, the app will bring up a random thought that you have previously saved. Additionally, it will send you a recap email once every week, and there is the option to make use of hashtags to help you organize your saved ideas.

Thoughtback allows you to store and recall your thoughts via a private, unfiltered, personally meaningful journal that sends thoughts back to you.  You can use it from the web on any computer, but it also features mobile tech support for any iOS device.  With the app, you can store random thoughts from meetings, save articles and snippets from your favorite stories, and jot down song titles, jokes, or stories that you want to share with others.  It is useful for anything that you feel you might need to remember at any time in the future, and anything can serve as a Thoughtback entry.

To add a thought with the app simply click on the icon located in your system bar and type inside the thought box that appears, or right clicking on the icon will alternatively bring up the thought box.  You can edit your settings from Thoughtback’s website, giving you options such as the ability to create a keyboard shortcut.  To do so, you can go to your preferences and enter the preferred shortcut key in a box found in the accompanying menu.  The app’s use is simple and painless provided you are always careful of the personal information you divulge and keep Internet security in mind.

After saving a thought in the app, you will receive a reminder of it again in a few days and, while these reminders will appear randomly, you can disable this setting by going to preferences and unchecking the box that permits you to display random thought notifications. If you are someone who would already tends to have random thoughts and ideas from time to time, Thoughtback could be a very useful app that can help rekindle your creativity.
