Capsule.fm CEO Espen Systad Wants to Convert Your Social Media and News to Audio

Checking different news sites and blogs is quickly becoming the daily morning routine for many professionals.  More often than not, one can catch many people going through popular entertainment blogs and news sites on their phone over breakfast or coffee in the morning.  However, despite the fact that someone can do it all on a device that fits in his or her pocket, there is still an aspect of inconvenience to this process.  One must always stop what they are doing in order to check new postings or read articles on their favorite blogs.  Outside of those people who use public transportation and have a specific time where their hands and eyes are free during their morning commute, stopping work or travel is necessary for people to check these websites on their phones.  Cool person in technology Espen Systad wants to make it easy for people to get the information they want from entertainment and news sites without taking more time away from them.  Systad’s company Capsule.fm accomplishes this feat by automatically converting the text from blogs and news sites into a personalized audio feed for smartphone users.

Systad and his company develop an iPhone application that they call the “Early Edition”.  The Early Edition connects to several different online sources to bring consumers personalized audio content every morning.  Users can select which sources the app collects news from to personalize each day’s feed for their particular interests.  Artificially intelligent computer voices narrate the Early Edition’s audio feeds and pull content from news articles, blog postings, weather reports, and entertainment sites.  People can even choose to include music in their daily audio feeds if they prefer to break up the flow of information with a few songs.  Obviously, anyone who has audio playback issues with their phone will need smartphone computer repair before using Early Edition.

Currently, Systad has only made the Early Edition app available on the iPhone, with an Android application coming in the future.  Any Apple users who experience difficulty purchasing the app online should find iPhone support for help.

Systad has worked for Internet companies in numerous roles since beginning his career in 1995.  He has produced Internet ad content, developed product concepts, and run the social media divisions of entire companies over the last two decades.  This cool person is now setting his sights on the mobile world with Capsule.fm and hoping to change the game of web content once again by replacing text with audio for web consumers.
