Julien Salanave Founded Orée to Craft Electronics from Natural Materials

While companies release newer, more advanced consumer technology all the time with an ever-growing list of features, they make an overwhelmingly large amount of this tech out of plastic or cheap metal.  These cheaper components can lead to shorter lifespans for devices and accessories, no matter how advanced their features.  Cool person in technology Julien Salanave believes there is a better way to create technology products.  That’s why he founded Orée.  He wanted to build computer accessories that forgo the common metal and plastic material for a unique, eco-friendly feel.  Salanave’s company constructs all its products from wood and other natural materials.  This choice certainly distinguishes Orée’s line-up of computer accessories from the competition and makes them stand out among mass-market electronics.

Salanave doesn’t want you to believe that his choice to design consumer electronics made from natural materials is merely a gimmick.  Orée’s website preaches extensively to the durability of each product.  The argument is that while other companies design plastic accessories that become obsolete quickly, Salanave’s choice to have his products made to order with eco-friendly material leads to more durable quality.  If Salanave’s claims about durability hold up in his finished products, anyone who’s needed computer repair for a plastic device should have interest in his designs.

For computers, Salanave’s company offers a Bluetooth wireless keyboard, a leather carrying case for the keyboard, and a wireless touchpad that can double as a numerical keypad.  For smartphones, Orée sells a protective case available for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and Samsung Galaxy S3, as well as a wireless charging pad that works with the case.  Salanave ships all his company’s products internationally.  If you ever need help with the wireless connection in products like the ones that Orée sells, a home tech support service would be your best option.

Before founding Orée, Salanave also founded UpNext, a firm that tracks and researches trends in mobile technology.  Before founding his own startups, Orée worked as a senior associate at Newbury Ventures, where helped other startups gain resources in the early stages of their companies.
