Rick Altinger Helps People Manage Their Diabetes with Glooko

Managing diseases and other conditions more efficiently is one the best advantages of ubiquitous high-level technology.  With computers, tablets, and smartphones everywhere and the advent of cloud technology, it’s easier than ever for people to use technology to their advantage when handling health problems.  One cool person in technology who is helping people do this is Glooko CEO Rick Altinger.  Altinger’s company provides a diabetes management application for mobile phones.  The Glooko app makes managing and keeping track of one’s condition easier and more convenient with the help of mobile technology.

Users of Altinger’s app can download their glucose meter readings directly to their app so it can log their blood sugar levels and store the information in the cloud permanently.  People can do this with Glooko thanks to a special sync cable that Altinger’s company provides.  There are currently seventeen different FDA approved meters that work with Glooko and the Glooko sync cable.  Altinger is constantly working to expand the reach and compatibility of Glooko so people on other meters can also use the app. Users can also manually log their food intake and exercise information.  Glooko essentially erases the need for any sort of physical logbook for diabetes patients. However, any diabetics interested in Glooko but have broken USB connection on their phones will need mobile PC repair before they can take advantage of Altinger’s app.

Glooko is currently available for both Android and iOS, but the Android app was only recently developed.  Any users who have problems getting the Android version of Altinger’s app to work can call an Android tech support company for assistance.

Altinger has held leadership positions at technology and web-based companies for over twenty years.  Companies that Altinger has worked for include Intuit, VantageMed, and AdvancedMD.  Altinger has spent a significant amount of time working for technology companies that have a healthcare and medical bent to their products and missions.  He was the vice president of WebMD, one of the most popular medical websites on the web, for four years.  This experience makes him the perfect candidate to help Glooko move into the future and help more Diabetes patients with mobile technology.
