MoxTree Gives Moms their Own Community

photo moxtree-gives-moms-their-own-community.pngRaising children is no easy feat, and moms need connections to other likeminded moms who can offer camaraderie and advice.  Often mothers have hectic schedules, though, and do not have the time to run to a myriad of sites for all of their interests.  Many women do find themselves joining many different sites and clubs to meet all of their needs.  They may join a different club or website to join with a community of other moms centered around exercise, professional networking, or book clubs, for instance.  Simply put, MoxTree is a social network for moms.  It makes connections between moms easier and focuses not only on the parenting component, but on the entire woman.  It gives moms the tools to find other moms near them with varied interests, knowledge, experience, and compatibilities.

MoxTree’s creator calls it “your ‘one stop shop’ from pregnancy and beyond to connect with like-minded moms with the flexibility to get together or support each other from afar.”  A woman who has just had her first child and has a problem or a question also has access to experienced moms who can help her.  It is also helpful to have new moms to team up with and go through the good times and the difficulties of raising children together.  As with any social networking site, you should always keep Internet security in mind when divulging personal information, but MoxTree is ultimately a safe place for moms to meet online.

MoxTree allows women to become members, create a profile, and search for other moms within a specified geographical range. They then have the option to automatically match with others based on age range, children’s age range, and additional filters based on common interests and hobbies. The user can then create her own group. For example, she can place the profiles of other women in her “exercise group” folder, her “book club” folder or her “professional networking” folder.  This connects moms and personalizes the process by allowing them to connect based on common interests or similar stages (from expectant women to women with older children) to provide everything a new or seasoned mom needs in one place.

Creating a profile takes just a few minutes, and from there is functions very similarly to a site like Facebook.  Filters go beyond age and location, letting you focus on interests, whether you work a job or stay at home, number of children, or more personal interests such as travel and food.  The service works to populate your search with any moms that have any of these commonalities with you, and from there you reach out to each other.  Because it is not strictly for either desktop or mobile and is not a download, system recovery concerns will not prevent you from being able to reach out to your community on any other computer or Internet-connected tech device.  With MoxTree, the support you need in whatever stage of motherhood you find yourself is always available.
