Adam Perry Founded BandApp to Give Young Bands an Easy Way onto Mobile Devices

Unless a member also happens to be a mobile software developer, most bands and musical artists on the independent scene don’t have the resources to make a dedicated mobile app for their music.  The money a band would need to spend in order to hire an app development service is just too much to justify when there are touring and studio costs.  However, the Internet music scene is very important in a band’s early stages since they are trying to get their name out as much as possible.  Cool person in technology Adam Perry wants to solve this catch-22 with his startup BandApp.  BandApp provides bands with an easy way to create a functioning mobile app from their template.  Bands can put photos, music, tour dates, and their biography on the app.  Artists who use the app can even link directly to their music on SoundCloud or iTunes.  Perry wants to give newer artists a way to promote themselves on the mobile web conveniently and easily with this new venture.  Any band that runs into technical difficulty while building their app on Perry’s platform should contact computer support for help.

There is another side to BandApp’s functionality as well.  Fans can download the official BandApp smartphone application and use it to access the profiles and music of all the bands that use the service.  When fans use Perry’s application, it acts as both a music discovery service and a musical storefront.  If any fans experience glitches on their phones from the app, they can get Android repair service for assistance.

Perry has also established a relationship between BandApp and several major record labels such as Universal Records and Sony Music Group.  Executives from these labels keep track of the most popular BandApp artists.  Perry uses this as incentive for bands to promote the service heavily and get themselves featured on the app.

Perry is a musician himself.  He has spent several years touring the world as the drummer for The Bloodhound Gang.  This experience has allowed him to build a strong network of contacts in the music industry.  It also gives him direct insight into what his potential clients want and need out of a promotional tool such as BandApp.  Perry also spent three years as the creative director of Medical Music, a music consultancy firm for bands breaking into the industry.  By building BandApp, Perry continues to expand his influence on the world of music and help younger artists grow their fan bases.
