Rydis MR6550 Robot Vacuum Does Your Dirty Work for You!

In 1962 the Jetson’s cartoon prophesied the year 2062, where a robot maid named Rosie would swoop around on her caster wheels, bossing the Jetson family around and vacuuming every mess their slapstick antics created. Moneual’s Rydis MR6550 is like Rosie, only it’s the size of a cheesecake, and it’s quiet enough that you can sleep while it vacuums your house. Also, when you tell it to clean, it doesn’t talk back!

Go mop the kitchen, Rosie!

Because the Rydis MR6550 has cliff sensors and object detection to stop it from falling down stairs and crashing into objects, you can essentially unleash this artificial intelligence into your house and let it wander around for two hours at a time, cleaning nonstop. A HEPA filter ensures removal of 99.97% of microscopic particles, and when the battery is low, the MR6550 will automatically return to its docking station to recharge.

The MR6550 comes equipped with a microfiber dry mop for tile and hardwood floors. Dry-mopping is only one of its eight cleaning modes. You can also tell your Rydis to do an ‘intensive’ clean in a specific area, ‘corner’ clean around the edges of a room, ‘multi-room’ clean, or ‘auto-clean’ the entire house. In addition is a function called ‘shadow’ which will tell the Rydis MR6550 to clean in less traversed areas of a room like under the couches, beds, or in the closets. Of course, you need to have the lights on for this feature to work, so the Rydis is able to detect these shadowy places. The Rydis MR6550 will also clean within an infrared perimeter of varying sizes. And if you have difficulty programming your Rydis MR6550, or have any software or hardware issue, remote tech support is available 24/7 to assist you.

Remote Controlling Your Robot

Two other cool features of the Rydis MR6550 are the manual control and the motion sensing manual control. Manual control is a d-pad that lets you drive the vacuum around like a remote control car. And the motion-sensing manual control is like this, except Nintendo Wii style: tilt your hand left, Rydis goes left, tilt it right, it goes right, etc. This feature reviewed quite well on Digital Trends who said, “we expected it to be somewhat cheesy, but it’s actually surprisingly responsive and intuitive to drive the bot around just by tilting the remote.” Chase your wife, chase your kids, chase your pets!

Rydis MR6550 vs. iRobot

Amazon reviewers rate the Rydis MR6550 4 out of 5 stars, and it also reviews highly on Digital Trends against its pricier competitor, the iRobot Roomba. DT said, “It’s on pretty even footing with a Roomba in most areas, and surpasses it in some; all the more impressive since it’s less than three hundred bucks.” The only major drawbacks reported by DT are a limited ability to pick up larger objects like stones and candy wrappers, and the complexity of programming the infrared intuitive functions. Online tech support is available around the clock if you experience any trouble programming your MR6550.
